Dear Earlimart School District Family,
As a school community, we join the nation in mourning the innocent lives lost at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas yesterday. Our hearts are deeply saddened by this tragic and unimaginable event.
In our own effort to ensure the safety of our students and staff, we continuously revisit our safety practices and adjust as needed. Every campus has a board approved safety plan and is in alignment with recommended best practices by local law enforcement agencies.
As an additional measure of support to ensure campus safety, ESD will reinstitute the closed and open campus practices at specific times to maintain restricted access to all campuses.
All gates will remain closed from 8:15 am to 2:15 p.m. at the elementary campuses and 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the middle school.
Access to campus during those hours will only be available via the main entrance gates.
All visitors are required to check in the front office for any on campus event.
We understand the emotional toll this may take on you and our students, and ask you reach out to us if someone needs support during this time.
We stand together as a community and want to reassure you once again that safety and well being of our students is our priority. If you notice any suspicious activity please contact the school or law enforcement immediately.
Sincerely,
Jaime Robles, Superintendent
